 The employment agencies act 1973 regulates UK recruitment firms, aiming to ensure fair practices by setting standards for employment and recruitment agencies and prohibiting charging job seekers for work finding, and mandating transparency in contracts, fees, and terms for both temporary and permanent roles.

North Sea Nexus, works with offshore and maritime personnel who are required to hold valid and appropriate certification.

  • STCW and sector-specific certification must be valid and in date

  • Flag-state endorsements are required where applicable

  • Valid ENG1 or equivalent medical certification is required

  • Candidates are responsible for maintaining the validity of their documents

  • We verify documentation to a reasonable and practical standard

Where we can, we carry out right to work checks in line with UK legislation.

  • Visa and work permit requirements vary depending on flag state, vessel, and location

  • Candidates are responsible for ensuring they hold valid immigration permission

  • We work with clients to ensure compliance with relevant national and international requirements
